Festive Bugs And Frozen Code

Festive Bugs And Frozen Code

I was invited onto a podcast. Listen to me talk about Christmas related bugs, and my opinion on code freezes.

At the end of 2018 I was invited onto a podcast called The Guilty Tester. It's the work of David Duke, a tester that I worked with when building TV applications at the BBC.

Together with Gem Hill and Matthew Bretten, we discussed Christmas related software problems, with some excellent examples. I offered up my three favorite Christmas bugs - a very niche list, to be honest. The discussion is spread across two episodes, the first titled When A Bug Is Born.

The second episode is Frozen When Your Codes Not Open where we discuss code freezes - especially those around the Christmas period.

Code freezes are an understandable method of avoiding production issues and downtime, though have their drawbacks. Take a listen to the episode to hear my thoughts on the subject, and do get in touch if you'd like to chat more.
